Oh I love this post! Pressure’s off! It’s ok to just be a kid, explore, discover, have fun, ponder, daydream, create - all that uninhibited not over-structured play will help you later. Not too soon as you have to be an adult long enough! I think as adults we feel like kids need to be learning something ‘legitimate’ all the time, but play, true play where there needn’t be an ‘outcome’ build’s the scaffold on which academia is built. Thanks Susie, off to have non guilt ridden fun with my littles now

Hi, this article is really helpful for me. i have one question – does “tracing” mean tracing it with your finger, or with a writing implement in your hand?

Thank you for such a complete article. I really enjoyed the background information and am convinced that my 7 year-old struggles with fine motor strength due to this push to hand write so early. I’ll be setting up these activities for him to ‘help’ his 3 year-old sister
